An Example for Churches
Last year a church in the USA requested information on Holocaust survivors. Their goal was to take an offering each month with a desire to receive sufficient funds to give a gift to a different survivor each month.
The congregation warmly responded and has done exceedingly above the original plan. In the first month the giving was so high that there was sufficient for more survivors. The trend continued. At the end of the third month news reached CFI Jerusalem Holocaust team that the giving is so abundant that all survivors have been covered and there is enough left over to provide for more!! The initiator and organizer said, “God is really blessing this giving endeavor to those who have suffered so much and I am very happy He has allowed me to be a part of it.” Who knows what will transpire in the future?
This is one example of how churches may be involved in being a blessing to the survivors of the holocaust in Israel today.
Barriers of Hurt Dissolve
As has been announced in our For Zion Sake magazine, the CFI Forsake Them Not team has been lead for many years by a beautiful Dutch couple. They have now returned home to Holland and we want our supporters to be aware of the high level of service this dedicated couple achieved. As your hands and feet they delivered generous financial gifts to hundreds of survivors, many of whom were house-bound and in need of a personal, cheerful visit. Christians are sometimes treated with suspicion, but because of their integrity, faithfulness and sensitivity combined with your gifts, any lack of trust melted away. The combination of gifts from Christians in the nations and their genuine love, have caused barriers of hurt to dissolve and be replaced by sincere appreciation and public thanks.
Thank you for the gifts that give us the means to bless each survivor.
