During the Hannuka season of lights, an enemy
sowed sparks of fire in the Mt. Carmel Forest in Haifa, Israel, and the holiday
period quickly became a time of flames, dreadful and destructive blazes
destroying many dunams of beautiful trees in one of the loveliest forests in
Israel. Property, homes and lives were drastically changed as a result. |
We, as Christian friends of Israel, need to stand in the gap now on the front lines of this country and help them restore and rebuild the damaged areas. Many families are still living in temporary places waiting for instructions of where their homes will be and when will they be in permanent dwellings. There are widows who have children and need help. Orphanages and schools, as well as a kibbutz that was nearly totally destroyed need rebuilding along with new fire fighting equipment which needs to be purchased. The flames overwhelmed the area for three days but the lights of all the faithful of Israel and those who love her, have not been dimmed nor gone out. |
With the above in mind, this is the reason we have set up the Mount Carmel Relief Fund to enable us to take action when a disaster strikes. CFI maintains a Communities Under Attack fund in times of war but this fund will go specifically to help rebuild from the devastating, life changing damage left by the fires. |
